To remote start a manual transmission vehicle, the system must first be set up in “Reservation Mode”. Reservation Mode is designed to prevent the vehicle from remote starting while in gear. Each time the user wants to remote start their manual transmission vehicle, they must set Reservation Mode.
With the engine running, set the emergency/parking brake. Wait for a "CLICK" sound; this is the system engaging.
Remove the key from the ignition switch; the vehicle's engine will continue to run.
Exit the vehicle and remove your belongings; close all doors and ensure that the trunk is closed.
Hold the Remote Start button for 2.5 seconds to activate Reservation Mode.
The doors will lock, the engine will shutdown and Reservation Mode is now set.
The user may now start and stop the vehicle engine remotely, provided that Reservation Mode is set. Reservation Mode will be cancelled if the vehicle's door, hood or trunk is opened. If Reservation Mode is cancelled, the complete process must be repeated.
